Hello all, This upcoming Sunday, marks the 153 rd anniversary of Emancipation Day here in Puerto Rico. Due to the heroic efforts of abolitionists and enslaved people alike, around 3,000 slaves were liberated under the "Ley de Abolición de la Esclavitud en Puerto Rico" passed by the Spanish National Assembly on March 22, 1873.
