Story time and future workshops
Hello all,
Mark your calendars for our next storytime! On Saturday, October 10, 2026, we'll be welcoming a local student from the Young Ambassador Program of the National Museum of the American Latino of the Smithsonian Institution for story time at our library. Selected by this program, the featured books are: Please, Pass the Tamales and My Sister's Quinceañera. Be sure to stay until the end for a fun activity and a special treat! Starting at 12:30pm.

Autumnal activities are kicking off at San Juan Community Library with a new crochet workshop! On Saturday, October 24, 2026 we will be welcoming certified artisan, Yoely Delgado (of @madebyyoe) to host a new workshop perfect for crochet lovers and beginners. As it is the spooky season, Yoely will be teaching how to crochet a small ghost, wonderful for decoration and fun during this season!
The workshop will be on Saturday, October 24 from 12:30pm-2:30pm and has a price of $30 which includes the cost of the class and all the materials. Remember to sign up in advance! Spaces are limited.

If you loved our Summer Sumi-e workshop, we have the perfect follow-up for you. This Saturday, September 26, 2026 we will be hosting our first advanced Sumi-e workshop. Open to all with previous ink drawing experience and looking to learn more! Additionally, our last beginner's workshop of the season will be on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
All workshops run from 11:00 am-1:00 pm and have a cost of $25 per person which includes the price of the class as well as all materials. There is only a limited number of spaces available for all the workshops, so remember to secure your spot beforehand! Open to all, ages 13+.
