Sumi-e Workshops Starting this Saturday!

This Saturday! Spots for our first Advanced Sumi-e (ink drawing) Workshop with artist, Alejandra Nanishi are still available. After the success of our beginner workshops, we are launching a new workshop where participants can continue nurturing and growing their ink painting skills while using a contemporary approach to the craft. Prior experience in Sumi-e required. Open to ages 13+.
We will also have another advanced workshop on Saturday, September 26, 2026 as well as two more beginner workshops on Saturday, September 13 and Saturday, October 10, 2026. All workshops run from 11:00am-1:00pm. We only have a limited number of spots for the workshops, so make sure to secure your spot! The workshops have a price of $25 per person, which includes all materials necessary and the price of the class.

The library will be closed for renovations and Labor Day weekend starting Thursday, September 3, 2026 until Monday, September 7, 2026. As customary, books will not be due on these days and fines will not be accumulated. Remember that even when the library is closed, you have 24/7 access to our catalog of eBooks and audiobooks on Libby as well as our streaming catalog of movies, television shows, and documentaries via Kanopy. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 for regular operating hours!
