Hello all,
Welcome to March! March might be best known for flowers and rabbits, but it is also known for celebrating Women's History Month. Originally styled as Women's History Week, organizers in 1978 selected the week of March 8th as it corresponded with International Women's Day and it quickly spread across the country. Through the collaboration of women's groups and historians, they successfully lobbied for national recognition and in February 1980, President Jimmy Carter declared the Week of March 8, 1980 as National Women's History Week (which has been expanded to a full month since 1995). To commemorate this month, you will find our Suggested Reading section full of titles showcasing a diverse array of books highlighting women's stories and contributions across history, all written by female authors.
Can you believe it? Spring break is just around the corner. The library will be closed for Spring Break from Wednesday, April 1, 2026 to Sunday, April 5, 2026. You may return your books at any time using the green mailbox by the front entrance of the library or check out our online catalog of eBooks and audiobooks on Libby. As customary, fines will not be accumulated over the break.
Save the date! National Library Week is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning. Saturday, April 18, 2026 join us to celebrate National Library Week 2026 with a day of activities including story time, craft time, and book sale. Stay tuned for more details!
