Thanks to everyone who joined us for our 2026 National Library Week celebration this past Saturday.  It was a special day of games and our special story and craft time with Lizette Martinez.  We loved the feedback for our Sticker Treasure Hunt and are eager to share our Fall version with you at our Back to School Book Fest in August!

It is with an equally grateful heart that we announce the June 6^th session of our upcoming Ink Paint Workshops with Alejandra Nanishi is full. The response from you all, our community, has been wonderful. The June 27 workshop still has spaces available to fill. The workshop consists of one class running from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and has a cost of $25, which covers the cost of the class as well as all the materials needed. Open to all participants, 13 and up. To reserve your space, send us an email to info@yourlibrarysanjuan.org with the participant's name, a contact number, and the session you wish to sign up for.

Sumi-e is a traditional Japanese monochromatic art style that seeks to capture the essence of nature with simple, fluid and intentional lines.

In this workshop you will:

·                 Learn the fundamentals of ink painting. 

·                 Explore a contemporary approach to Sumi-e.

·                 Connect with Puerto Rican nature as a source of inspiration.

·                 Develop tools to continue practicing at your own pace. 

You do not need any prior experience, simply the desire to create and explore!
