National Library Week Celebration
Hello all, National Library Week is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning. This year, the theme is "Find Your Joy", a theme that highlights the many different ways libraries are enriching centers for our communities. Spring Break
Hello all, This upcoming Sunday, marks the 153 rd anniversary of Emancipation Day here in Puerto Rico. Due to the heroic efforts of abolitionists and enslaved people alike, around 3,000 slaves were liberated under the "Ley de Abolición de la Esclavitud en Puerto Rico" passed by the Spanish National Assembly on March 22, 1873. Hello all, Welcome to March! March might be best known for flowers and rabbits, but it is also known for celebrating Women's History Month. Originally styled as Women's History Week, organizers in 1978 selected the week of March 8 th as it corresponded with International Women's Day and it quickly spread across the country.
